Everyday

For those of you who have been with me for a while, you know of Devrah, who works with me. Even though her daughter, Aja, has taken over a lot of the day-to-day work, Devrah is still the cornerstone of the business, as the 3 of us send what I offer out into the world.

More than that, we are soul sisters who support each other on this journey of life. One of my favorite things of late is that she has been sharing music with me that really touches her and me. (I’ve started reciprocating as well!)

Recently, she shared Everyday by Joy Rhodes, and we both felt it represents my message to the world. I hope you enjoy it as much as we have.

Woke up with breath in my body

Sunlight touching my face

Even when life gets heavy

There’s still mercy in the day

 

I used to pray for the things

That I’m standing in now

Used to wonder if the rain

Would ever stop coming down

 

Now I see it more clearly

Every season had a reason

Even pain came with a lesson

Even loss came with meaning

 

So I open up my heart

Let the Spirit do the rest

Some days I’m still learning

But I know that I am blessed

 

If the road gets long

I won’t lose my way

I’ve been held this long

By amazing grace

Every day is a blessing

Every breath is a sign

Every step that I’m taking

Is proof I am still alive

Even when I get weary

Even when I start stressing

I look up and remember

Every day is a blessing

 

There’s beauty in the quiet

There’s power in the pause

There’s peace in surrender

When I give it all to God

 

I don’t need every answer

I don’t need every door

What is meant for my spirit

Will be mine and even more

 

I’ve been learning to be gentle

With the woman I became

She survived so many storms

And still walks soft through the rain

 

So I speak love to my body

Speak light into my mind

I am here, I am healing

I am right on time
